The reverse features a handwritten letter dated 13.12.84, addressed to Madame Demort in Rilly-la-Montagne, describing the building as a sad remnant of the war, surrounded by modern skyscrapers. Two stamps of 10 and 50 pfennigs are affixed, with a postmark 'Berlin 26.1.85'.
