Postcard showing a commemorative stone in New Forest, indicating the spot where a tree was pierced by an arrow shot by Sir Walter Tyrrell, causing the immediate death of King William II, nicknamed Rufus, on August 2, 1100. The reverse contains handwritten correspondence and printed text describing the history of King Rufus of Normandy, son of William the Conqueror, who died accidentally during a hunt in New Forest in 1100.
