View of the central buildings of the University of Liège, constructed between 1890 and 1892 according to the plans of architect Demany. Four bronze statues adorn the top of the façade: The Philosopher (Léon Mignon), The Law (Alnh. de Tombay), Mathematics (M. Pollard), and Medicine (Hippolyte Le Roi). On the first floor, two statues represent the Arts (de Laguë) and Study (de Maurice de Mathelin). Back: handwritten inscription dated December 19, 1898, signed 'Edouard', addressed to 'Vos petits chéris'.
