Description

View of the Fautras Barracks in Brest, a classical-style military building with slate roofs and numerous windows. In the foreground, a paved courtyard with a few soldiers and a cart pulled by horses. The reverse bears a handwritten letter dated May 20, 1913, addressed to 'dear cousin', mentioning an illness and lack of news, as well as the recipient's address in Brest.
