View of a commemorative monument from the 1870 war, located in Charleville, with a statue on a base surrounded by a fence. The printed text at the bottom of the front indicates that it was erected by the Germans in 1918. On the back, a postcard addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Lampeau in Paris, dated 1918, with handwritten text 'Amitiés et à bientôt, Jean Caruf'.
