Description

View of the Castle of Saint-Élix in Gascony, built around 1510 in the Chenonceau style, by the architect Pierre Potier for the Treasurer of the Bourre of the States of Languedoc. The reverse indicates that it was acquired in 1576 by the Marshal of Bellegarde, who completed the construction of this pure specimen of the Renaissance. Printed text on the reverse mentions the publisher Héloïgravure Frères, Toulouse.
