Description

View of the ruins of the Châteaubriant fortress castle, with its entrance tower with arcades dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, surrounded by vegetation. Printed text on the front indicates the construction of the castle in the 11th century by Lord Briant and the destruction of the towers by order of Henri IV after the Wars of the League. Back: handwritten message addressed to 'My dear' from Nantes, dated 17-9, with the sender's address in Châteaubriant and mention of the Gaby editions.
