View of the Chinon Castle by the side of a watercourse, with printed text describing its construction at the end of the 11th century, its capture by Henri II in 1429, and its occupation by Louis XIII. Reverse: handwritten address to Madame and Monsieur Girandeaup, 42 rue des Bouleaux, Paris, with a green 5c stamp and the usage postmark of Chinon from June 27, 1850.
