Postcard showing the Armistice Monument in Compiègne, with French inscription: 'HERE ON 11 NOVEMBER 1918 THE CRIMINAL PRIDE OF THE GERMAN EMPIRE WAS DEFEATED BY THE FREE NATIONS WHO TRIED TO ENSLAVE'. The reverse indicates the publisher 'L'H. Paris' and mentions the architect 'MAGÈS'. Postmark of 'VILLE DE COMPIÈGNE' and English text: 'Here the 11th November 1918 succumbed the criminal pride of the German Empire Vanquished by the free Nations which tried to enslave'.
