Indian inland postcard dated 1885, addressed to the Institution of Engineers of India in Calcutta, with a violet 35 annas stamp. The back bears the recipient's address A. P. Saxena at Gole Nadli, Todhpur, and a Sinhala postmark dated January 6, 1948. The handwritten inscription in Hindi and English on the back states: 'Untouchability is a crime against God and man'.
