Description

Stone monument erected in Abbeville in 1907 to commemorate the Knight of la Barre, who was tortured at the age of 19 in 1766 for failing to save a procession. Inscription engraved on the monument and a 10-centime French postage stamp. Reverse: handwritten correspondence addressed to Auch, Gers, with a postmark from Ger (August 28, 1908) and mention of the special edition of the Nouvelles Galeries.
