Description

Stone monument erected in Abbeville in 1907 to commemorate the martyrdom of the Chevalier de la Barre, who was executed in 1766 at the age of 19 for failing to salute a procession. Printed text on the monument and at the bottom of the front. Back: handwritten address to Monsieur Louis Domalain, college of Dinan, Côtes-du-Nord, with postage stamp and postmark from Tresoum (40 Somme) dated 21 July 1907.
