Description

Stone monument erected in Abbéville in 1907 to commemorate the martyrdom of the Knight of La Barre, who was tortured at 19 years old in 1766 for failing to salute a procession. The obelisk bears an inscription and a carved plaque. Reverse: postcard printed by Lévy fils & Cie, Paris, with handwritten text 'Bapaume 60' and partially visible postmark.
