Soldiers in uniform lined up in front of the monumental entrance to the Casbah in Constantine, with a fortified building in the background. On the reverse, a handwritten address to M. Octave Chaussin, sergeant-major, 91st Infantry Regiment in Bourges, with a 3-franc postmark and cancellation stamp from Rouffach (France) dated 8-2-06.
