View of a street in Amboise with troglodytic dwellings carved into the rock, bordered by trees and a stone bridge. A horse-drawn cart and a pedestrian cross the scene. On the back, handwritten English text describes the houses as being built directly into the earth, calling the town 'very beautiful' and mentioning a visit to the castle on the same day. Handwritten date: August 17, 1913.
