Description

Sepia-toned view of a canal in Amsterdam, the Oude Zijds Kolk, lined with old houses and with the Oude Kerk church visible in the distance. The printed text at the bottom clearly indicates the location. On the reverse, a handwritten inscription 'Pour boire à Tours' and an address to 'M. Jean Jansen de Mismann, Toulouse, France'. A postmark with cancellation 'RIJKSMUSEUM AMSTERDAM' and a note 'EXHIBITION 15 JULY — 13 OCT.' is affixed.
