Description

Commemorative monument to André Maginot, located in Verdun, depicting a statue at the center of a circular stone wall. The printed text at the base of the monument indicates his name, his roles (Sergeant in the 44th Regiment, Deputy of the Meuse, Minister of War) and his dates of birth and death (1877–1932). On the reverse, a detailed text recalls his military and political career, as well as a dated visit postmark from August 20, 1937, at Douaumont.
