Description

Postcard showing an oak tree on the Castle Promenade in Épinal, whose trunk is pierced by a shell, testifying to the destructions of war. The reverse bears a handwritten correspondence dated June 13, 1919, written to Gimpel, relating the emotion felt during a military movement and mentioning human losses. A stamp and postmark are visible on the reverse.
