Description

View of the obelisk on Place de la République in Arles, erected in 1829, measuring 19 m 81 cm, with its original stone pedestal adorned with four stone lions replaced by bronze lions. Printed text on the front describes the history of the monument. Reverse: handwritten address to M. Germinie in Bourgoin, 5-centime postage stamp, cancellation 'ARLES 9 5 6 6', and note 'Correspondence on the front is not accepted by all foreign countries'.
