View of the ancient monument of the Arenas of Arles, with a dense crowd gathered on the steps in front of the enclosure. The printed text at the bottom of the front indicates an 'Exit of a Death Match'. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated January 83, 1916, addressed to 'My Parents (sister-in-law)', mentioning a visit to Arles and a death match, as well as a partial postal address 'ARLES' and a postmark 'GRAPHIE FRANÇAISE'.
