Description

Postcard showing the ruins of the Tournoël Castle, an ancient fief of the Counts of Auvergne, besieged in 1213 by Philippe-Auguste and used as a base by Gaston d'Orléans in 1632 during his revolt against Richelieu. Reverse: 20 centimes stamp, postmark from Brassac (Allier) dated 16 August 1924, address to Mr. Chobeaux in Paris, and handwritten message 'Amities M. Giquerel / I have a terrible time.'
