Description

View of the Gothic portal of the cathedral of Auxerre, adorned with bas-reliefs and sculpted statues depicting scenes from the life of Christ. The printed text on the front describes the works as being sculpted with infinite artistry, but eaten away by time or damaged. The reverse bears a handwritten inscription 'Admire the judgment of Solomon (the judge's place on the public square)' and the publisher 'Anciens Éditeurs et Cie - 5, av. de Rabelais - Paris'.
