Black and white view of the Clock Tower of Auxerre, with its spired steeple and clock face, framed by shops such as a perfume shop and a confectionery. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated 2 June, addressed to Alfred Martini and Madame Martini at Prennes, near Dijon, with a 12-centime postage stamp and a postmark from Auxerre (Yonne).
