Colorized aerial view of Avalon and its bay on Catalina Island, with a busy harbor full of boats and a steaming steamship. On the reverse, a postcard sent on July 27, 1901 from Los Angeles to Alfortville (Paris), with a 20-cent American postage stamp and handwritten French script. The publisher is Newman-Post Card Co. of San Francisco.
