Description

View of the main facade of the Palais des Papes in Avignon, with an inscription indicating that part of it was built under Clement VI (1342-1352) and that the heraldic symbols are still present above the entrance door and at the vault keys. Reverse: handwritten message addressed to Mme Élvanne de la Croise in Nanteuil (Seine), sent from Avignon by Charles and Marie, with a violet 40-centime stamp and a cancellation from Avignon post office.
