View of Place du Palais in Avignon, showing the statue of Grillon in front of the former Palace of the Bishops, now occupied by the primary and secondary school. The reverse features a handwritten letter addressed to Madame Carriot in Montpellier, with two postage stamps (15c and 5c) and a postmark from Avignon dated 18 March 1964.
