War memorial of the city of Avranches, with a statue of a soldier holding a flag and another figure at the base, inscribed 'Aux morts pour la patrie'. Green 'République Française' stamp and Avranches postal cancellation. Reverse: handwritten address to M. and Mme Quinterel in Châteaudun, Eure-et-Loir, with note 'All foreign countries do not accept correspondence on the front side'.
