Colored view of the village of Bornhofen on the banks of the Rhine, with a steamboat in navigation and the castles of the 'hostile brothers' (feindlichen Brüder) in the background. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated 28-10-19, addressed to 'my old Pierre,' mentioning a trip to the Pennine and hopes for the children. Bottom right, the publisher K. S. M.
