Dramatic illustration of the explosion of the ship "Liberté" (14,868 tons) in Toulon Harbor on September 25, 1911, causing approximately 400 victims. Printed text at the bottom of the front. Reverse: handwritten address to Madame Portegièvre in Parcannonne (Aix), correspondence sent from Toulon, with a green 5-cent postage stamp canceled "Toulon 1911".
