View of the Cour d'honneur of the Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune, with its timber-framed buildings and tiled roofs, and a central garden. On the reverse, a handwritten letter addressed to Mr. H. M. M. in Rottweil, Germany, dated October 27, 1908, with a French postage stamp from 1908 and a Beaune postmark.
