View of the Gate of Cassel, a fortified gate from the 17th century, with a carved coat of arms and an inscription above the arch. Four men are visible on the bridge leading to the entrance. On the back, a handwritten letter addressed to 'M. Marcel Helliet' in Nancy, with a postmark from 'NANCY' dated January 13, 1916, and a note 'Recue le 24' at the bottom right.
