View of the courtyard of the Palais Granvelle in Besançon, a Renaissance-style building constructed between 1534 and 1549 by Nicolas Perrenot de Granvelle, minister of Charles V. In the center, a statue on a pedestal surrounded by a fence. The reverse features a handwritten correspondence dated May 20, 1915, addressed to Alfred Malhory in Bourg-en-Bresse, with a postmark and a cancellation stamp from Besançon.
