Description

View of the Porte Taillée in Besançon, pierced by the Romans (Marcus Aurelius) and crowned with a 16th-century tower, enlarged by Vauban in the 17th century after the conquest of Franche-Comté. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated April 1, 1914, addressed to 'ma chère mignonne' in Besançon, with cursive handwriting and a mention of 'Gadet' and 'chocolat'.
