Description

View of the Besançon Theatre, a neoclassical building constructed from 1778 to 1784 according to the plans of architect Ledoux, inaugurated in 1784 in the presence of Prince Condé and his son. Printed text at the bottom of the front. Reverse: correspondence dated December 17, 1918, addressed to a lieutenant in the 260th Infantry Regiment in Besançon, with postmark and cancellation 'DOUBS 17 18'.
