Description

Detailed illustration of the astronomical clock in Besançon, commissioned by Cardinal Mathieu, designed in 1858 and completed in August 1890, composed of 72 dials and reorganized in 1900 by M. Fiorian GÜDY. The reverse bears a handwritten letter addressed to family in France, mentioning the sending of a child on Saturday.
