Detailed illustration of the St. John Clock in Besançon, commissioned by Cardinal Méthien, started in March 1858, completed in August 1860, approximately 72 feet tall and composed of 30,000 mechanical parts. The reverse contains a handwritten letter dated 20-8-17, sent to Suzanne Mériel in Calvados, with a postmark and a cancellation stamp from Besançon.
