View of the Black Gate in Besançon, a Roman gate from the 11th century, with its imposing arch and dome-topped spire. The front shows the inscription 'Excursion in Franche-Comté' and number 743. The back shows a handwritten letter dated 22/10/14, sent from Besançon to Digne, with a stamp and postmark 'SANCOS DOUBS 22-10-14'.
