Description

Illustration of the astronomical clock in Besançon, commissioned by Cardinal Mathien, designed in 1858 and completed in 1860, made up of 30,000 parts and measuring 5m80 in height. On the reverse, handwritten correspondence addressed to Madame Emone Carlier in Valenciennes, with a green 5c French Republic stamp canceled in Besançon.
