Seated statue of Victor Hugo in the center of a park in Besançon, surrounded by wrought iron, with urban buildings in the background and a shop 'ARTHUR'. Reverse: handwritten correspondence dated April 27, 1923, sent from Besançon to Michel Grand in Saint-Quentin (Aisne), with a 5-centime postal stamp and a Besançon postmark.
