Aerial view of Besançon from the Saint-Jean clock tower, showing the roofs and buildings of the city with hills in the background. The reverse has handwritten text dated 27 February 1916, sent from Machy to M. Ballet in Vézelay, with a postmark from Machy (Doubs) dated 27 February 1916.
