The reverse features a handwritten letter dated 16/8/48, addressed to Madame Hosotte in Montbéliard, mentioning a stay in Belfort and a visit to the lighthouse. A blue 5-franc stamp is affixed, with a cancellation 'BIARRITZ 16 VIII 48'.
