Humorous illustration of soldiers in uniform playing billiards in a bar, with printed text at the top: 'THE MODERN ARMY AT THE APÉRITIF'. On the reverse, a handwritten letter addressed to 'Monsieur J. Tanguy, Banlieue de Marseille', dated August 1905, with a 5-centime stamp and a postmark from RISOR 3. The mark 'E. R. Paris' is visible on both sides.
