Description

Black and white view of the interior of the Virgin's Chapel at Bouchain, severely damaged by artillery fire from the war 1914-1915, with rubble and a statue of the Virgin pitted with holes. The printed text on the front states that the chapel was spared by the shells. The back features handwritten correspondence to Madame Ch. Hoeffet in Paris, dated 19.8.1908, with a red postage stamp and cancellation 'TOURS 19.8.08'.
