Panoramic view of the port of Brest with sloped-roof buildings on the shore, piers, and ships at sea. Printed text at the bottom: 'BREST. — The Entrance to the Port and the Harbor'. On the reverse, handwritten text addressed to 'Mademoiselle Domestique' in Caléras, with a red Brest stamp dated 1890 and a postmark.
