Description

View of the Asfeld Bridge (or Devil's Bridge) in Briancón, built in 1733 under the orders of Marshal d'Asfeld, Director General of Fortifications, during the reign of Louis XV. The bridge measures 120 feet in span and 168 feet in height above the river. Reverse: handwritten address to Madame Lovie in Narceville, postmark, and cancellation stamp.
