Description

Black and white view of the ruins of the Gaillon district in Caen after the bombings of 1944-1945, showing collapsed buildings and rubble. The reverse has a handwritten letter dated July 23, 1945, addressed to Monsieur Lancelot, expressing joy at his recovery and return to Caen, with a signature and address for Mme Érable.
