Black and white view of rue Saint-Pierre in Caen, showing old timber-framed buildings with signs such as 'PAPIERS PEINTS' and 'LEVRARD'. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated August 28, 1916, addressed to 'My dear little governess', with a signature 'CHRISTINA' and a mention of 'STALIN' at the bottom right.
