Stone memorial with an angel statue at the top, inscribed 'Aux Chiens du Calais Mort pour la Patrie'. Printed text on the base. Reverse: postcard sent from Calais to Abbeville (Somme), with a handwritten letter describing the monument as 'the only thing that is clean and white in Calais' and 'a really sad city'. One-french-franc red stamp canceled in Hampstead (England).
