Description

Interior view of the Chapel of the Warriors in Canterbury, with its pointed-arch vaulted ceiling, stained glass windows, and regimental flags hanging on the walls. The reverse indicates that the cathedral was built in the 11th century and that the chapel is dedicated to Saint Michael, becoming the sanctuary of the Buffs regiment, founded in 1572. The publisher is C. G. Williams Ltd., Maidstone, and the stamp is a 2d Revenue stamp of Queen Elizabeth II, postmarked in Canterbury on 5 July 1962.
