Description

View of the monastery ruins of Canterbury, with an arched passage covered in ivy, bordered by a small metal railing. The printed text at the bottom indicates 'CANTERBURY. The Cathedral — Monastery Ruins'. On the reverse, handwritten address sends the card to 'Mademoiselle J. Priève, Château de Criquerville, near Lillebonne, Seine-Inférieure (France)', with a note in French on the antiquity of the site. Two green ½ penny stamps are affixed at the top right, cancelled with a circular stamp 'CANTERBURY 30 JULY 1916'.
